Get relief from chronic or ongoing back and neck pain with a focused sports/deep tissue and remedial massage that works into the muscles.

Sports massage is a more focused approach concentrating on the areas that need the most work. It helps you get back on track and keep you going, working with you to achieve the best results.
Specific techniques, stretches and various forms of bodywork such as myofascial release and trigger point therapy are used on areas of the body realigning the muscle fibres and connective tissue. This facilitates healing, alleviates pain and stiffness and helps increase joint mobility. The application of sports massage prior to and after exercise, can enhance performance, aid recovery and prevent injury.

Deep tissue, remedial, sports massage can help a wide range of people, including computer users, manual workers and sporty people.  If you have general muscle tension and tightness, chronic, acute or ongoing pain, deep tissue massage can be beneficial before and after a sporting event.

For deep-rooted problem areas, I have an infra-red massage tool to get deeper into the soft tissues. Every treatment will be tailored to your needs.

Myofascial release, is a technique that can be added during a sports or remedial massage. It is very effective for stubborn or ongoing pain or a sports injury. It is used to restore mobility to restricted structures. This releases tension in the muscles and connective tissue allowing the muscles to work more efficiently and allowing chronic patterns of dysfunction to move more freely.

Massage in general, not just sports massage is good for our mental health and general well-being The mind-body connection is powerful, if we are suffering from aches and pains, we generally don’t feel that great and that can add to our stress levels both in our minds and physically. Being pain-free helps us to cope and feel better.

Having a massage helps all the systems of the body, particularly with circulation, reducing anxiety and stress as we relax and breathe more deeply that allowing more oxygen into the body and muscles. If you feel relaxed this will relay messages to the muscles to start relaxing.

Sports massage doesn’t necessarily have to be painful and I do adapt it to the person and the problem.
